MASATS, in collaboration with Ceit, is working on an all-new design that will bring smart doors to our stations.
MASATS and Ceit are working on a project to modernize station infrastructure, the aim of which is to design the PSD platform doors of the future. Besides acting as a protective barrier for passengers, these doors will be smart-connected to give the operator information on things like the system occupation volume, for example.
This door design will feature new mechanical advances for greater reliability, better performance and lower maintenance costs. As part of this challenge, work is being done to add an electric motor design to the project. This type of door activation motor is much more efficient and reliable than the ones that have been used to date. The expectation with this project, which began in January of this year, is to test the first prototype before the end of 2020.
