Masats will present its new RE2b ramp and  a new Passenger Information System at SITCE, Singapore.

From 6 to 8 November, the SITCE 2024 (Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition), a must-attend event for the public transport sector, will be held in Singapore. Masats, a leader in accessibility solutions and door systems for public transport vehicles, will be present to showcase its latest innovations, including the RE2b electric ramp and its Passenger Information System (PIS-L).

The new RE2b ramp is a compact, motorised ramp, integrated into the vehicle floor and designed to offer a superior user experience. It features a wider platform, allowing for more comfortable and safer access. The RE2b operates fully automatically, but also allows manual operation when required, and is compatible with the new Masats Evolution electronics, which incorporates predictive maintenance functionality, as well as being able to operate with the standard Masats ECU.

In addition, Masats will also present its innovative Passenger Information System (PIS-L) which has been designed to improve both safety and the user experience on public transport. This system is integrated into the sliding doors of the vehicles and uses red and green colour-coded lighting that allows passengers to clearly identify the status of the door, facilitating access more efficiently and safely.

One of the outstanding features of PIS-L is its optional integration into Masats’ RT1 telescopic ramps and RE2 electric ramps. In these devices, the system not only ensures greater safety during vehicle access and descent, but also provides more visible side signage, contributing to more inclusive and universal accessibility. The system uses a lighting strip that changes colour depending on the status of the door or ramp: steady green for safe access, flashing green during opening, and flashing red to indicate the start of closing. Both the door and ramp are coordinated to ensure that passengers always have a clear visual indication of when it is safe to enter or exit the vehicle.

At SITCE, visitors will be able to see the PIS-L system integrated into both the 028d sliding door and the RE2b ramp.

SITCE 2024 is organised by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA), the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). Masats has established itself as a benchmark in public transport in Singapore, where more than 1,650 vehicles currently operate with the company’s electric overhead or sliding doors, in collaboration with several local operators, such as SMRT, Go Ahead, SBS or Tower Transit.
