New Masats RD1 hybrid ramp: uninterrupted accessibility

Masats’ new ramps are aimed at improving passenger safety and vehicle availability.
With the new RD1 dual ramp, it offers a double ramp module, combining an electric ramp with a manual ramp, to ensure uninterrupted access to vehicles, even in the event of a power failure. In this event, the vehicle can continue to run with the manual ramp, thus ensuring maximum vehicle availability and reducing waiting times. Despite its light weight, the ramp allows access up to 350kg. The module is easy to install and also facilitates maintenance work.
The flush design of the RD1 allows unobstructed access to the vehicle floor, optimising interior space.
In addition, it incorporates maximum safety systems, such as weight sensors and obstacle detection, which stops the operation of the electrical module in case of any risk.
Among its most outstanding features is the possibility of integrating the PIS-L system, which improves accessibility for the visually impaired by means of side lighting. The system provides maximum safety, as it warns when it is safe to enter the vehicle. If installed with Masats doors, the system informs the combined status of door and ramp. This system is designed to improve access for the visually impaired, giving passengers confidence.
With this innovation, Masats is taking another step towards a more inclusive, safe and efficient model.
